What is Catharsis Cards?

Catharsis Cards is a self-reflection and conversation-starter app. You swipe through thought-provoking questions across five categories — Love & Intimacy, Spirituality, Society, Relationships, and Personal Development. You can like questions, write personal reflections, and track your daily streak. Circle mode lets 2–4 people answer the same questions in real time and compare their answers.

Which devices are supported?

The app is available on iPhone and Android. An internet connection is required for sign-in, Circle mode, and syncing reflections. Solo card swiping works offline once the question bank is loaded.

What is Circle mode?

Circle mode is a real-time shared session for 2–4 people. One person creates a session and shares a 6-character code. Everyone joins, answers the same questions independently (without seeing each other's answers), then reveals them together and votes whether they matched or differed. Each player gets 3 skips per session. After all cards are played, you get a recap slideshow of your session.

How do I start or join a Circle session?

From the home screen, tap the Circle icon. Choose Create to start a new session, or Join to enter a code someone shared with you. Share your 6-character code with the other players — they enter it on the Join screen.

What's included in the free version?

The free version includes a limited number of card swipes per day, access to Circle mode, and the ability to like cards. A premium subscription removes the daily swipe limit, hides ads, and unlocks all features.

How do I restore my subscription?

iOS: Go to Profile → Subscription Plans → Restore Purchases. Or check Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device to confirm it's active.

Android: Go to Profile → Subscription Plans → Restore Purchases. Or open the Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

If you reinstalled the app, your subscription does not restore automatically — you need to tap Restore Purchases once after signing back in.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Catharsis Cards → Cancel.
Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Catharsis Cards → Cancel.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled by Apple's Report a Problem portal (iOS) or Google Play's refund policy (Android).

I liked a card but can't find it — where did it go?

Liked cards are in the Liked Cards tab at the bottom of the screen. Make sure you're signed into the same account you used when you liked the card — likes are tied to your account, not the device.

Why is my streak gone?

Your streak resets if you miss a day. If you believe it reset incorrectly after signing in on a new device, contact us and we'll look into it.

How do I change my theme?

Three themes are available — Signature, Dark, and Light.
